Tourism with roots: our commitment to the land and the local economy
How we understand sustainable tourism: local jobs, links with other businesses and care for the destination.
Wechuntu was born in Choshuenco and grows with Choshuenco. For us, tourism only makes sense if it leaves value in the area and helps protect it.
Local economy
- We recommend and work with local lodgings, restaurants, markets and cafés.
- We work with local guides and instructors.
- Residents of Panguipulli, Los Lagos and Futrono get preferential prices on selected programs.
Sustainable tourism
- Small groups and trips planned around weather and mountain conditions.
- Leave No Trace principles on every activity.
- SERNATUR-registered company with certified guides and accident insurance.
Local development
We take part in local tourism associations and working groups, because a destination is built together: businesses, communities, institutions and visitors.
Guiding references
UN Tourism's Global Code of Ethics for Tourism and SERNATUR's Good Practice Manual for Tour Operators are references we follow for responsible tourism.
