A water-and-mountain destination all year round

Summer on the volcano and river, winter in the snow, autumn and spring in the forest. What to do each season.

The Mocho Choshuenco destination works in all four seasons, and each one opens different experiences.

Summer

The best window for the Mocho volcano ascent, the glacier trek and the Tumba del Buey crater. It's also peak season for rafting on the Fuy River and kayaking on Lake Panguipulli.

Winter (June to September)

With enough snow we head out on snowshoes to Tumba del Buey and family trails, and run ski lessons at Huilo Huilo. The winter Mocho ascent is for those looking for a bigger challenge.

Autumn and spring

Colourful forests, fewer visitors and rivers with good flow: a good time for native-forest trekking and water activities, conditions permitting.

Every outing depends on the forecast and mountain conditions. If it isn't safe, we reschedule.
